Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress who is best recognized for her roles in films on the film Ray Undercover Brother and on the television show The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University and an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Ellis works as a producer as well as an actress in film, theater and TV. Her acting career began in the theatre. Later, she was a part of various television series as well as independent and mainstream movies. Her most well-known role was Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico as well as on BET's epic series The Book of Negroes for which she not only received critical acclaim but also a number of nominations and awards, including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actress in a Film. Her debut on stage in the role of Ariel in The Tempest. The stage credits she has received include the Broadway productions of Joe's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. When it comes to film, she is known best for her performances in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. Her most well-known role is her character on ABC's crime drama High Incident.
